Britain’s Got Talent is a TV program in UK that showcases talented artists. Some dazzling performances from 2007 and 2008:
Suleman Mirza and Madhu Singh (Signature): Suleman is a trainee lawyer who dances like Michael Jackson. Madhu is a sales assistant who dances Bhangra. Their first performance was mind-blowing. The Punjabi song was Nachna Onda Nai remix by TigerStyle. Their second performance was equally good.
Escala Quartet: These four girls are classical violinists who have formed a group playing electric violins. Their first performance was a short excerpt from Palladio by Karl Jenkins. They have also recorded the full version of the Palladio, which is pretty good. There is a beautiful recording of Palladio conducted by Karl Jenkins himself. Jenkins’ compositions are associated with DeBeers ads, which constitute a classic case study in advertising.
Escala has also recorded a beautiful rendition of Uninvited by Alanis Morrisette. I really like this composition:
Connie Talbot: She is a 6-year old with perfect pitch. Her first performance was a touching solo performance of “Over the Rainbow”.
