Great list!!! I would add (although it may not be on YouTube) the lullaby from Brahmachari “Main Gaaon Tum So Jao” :-) I melt every time I watch Shammi sing it.
and one more (I really like this list) that I love is “Ek Thi Ladki” from Gumrah (1963, Asha Bhosle; Ravi)
Lullabies are so soothing that they can put not only the little ones, but also the child who is there in all of us! The soothing voice affectionately humming, like whispering a melody, and the gentle patting or caressing is all it takes to put to sleep, any one of any age, like a little baby!
I love the first one “dheere se aaja ri” a lot; I usually sing that one, just a few lines though, in my voice (that of a non-singer!)…. yet it works like a magic spell to take the one listening far far away from the frowns of the day into the serene moonlit black blue skies, gliding from one puffy cloud to another, where into the stars dwell the smiling angels… And you know so when with closed eyes, a ‘lil smile touches one end of the lips of your baby…
I am acutally inspired to write a little poem on this :)

I agree with Sonali’s comment that lullabies have a special effect on all of us.
Many things in life (like lullabies) have magical effect on us. Subconsciously, I have been trying to avoid immersing into such experiences as I can not explain them. Recently I realized that there is not much value in trying to “explain” the effect. It’s probably best left as an experience.

Great compilation of lories / lullabies! Indeed, it took months before i got hold of this website on google. May be it could be worded more better so that when googled, the webpage is listed on page # 1 instead of scrolling through N number of pages, which many (including me) don’t bother to go past 1 or 2 search pages.
