In a 20-minute video called The Story of Stuff, sustainability expert Annie Leonard helps lay persons understand how ’stuff’ moves from Extraction, Production, Distribution, Consumption and Disposal in US society. The video is full of facts, and has gained in popularity since December 2007. The complete script with citations is also available. After watching the video, you are likely to ask: “So, what can I do?”. Or you may wonder: “I want books and articles for further reading”. Or you might feel that “I want to help an NGO working on these issues”.
I chanced upon the video at KarmaTube, which periodically posts inspiring or educational videos for the betterment of society. The video is also available on YouTube.
